Barikawa Nairobi is a young organization that is poised to expand. It's need for C1-personnel to facilitate this has become paramount It has engaged an executive search firm whose work should take through early 2021. In order to facilitate a transition, all Directorships are now pro tempore.
Sam Osmondi Kasedar, age 41, is a Kenyan native. He resides in Nairobi with his wife Christine, and family. Together they have brought about a well-reputed, officially recognized community baed organization termed Barikawa Nairobi. Barikawa has various humanitarian endeavors - an Academy, a Children's Home, Medical Missions work, and a Family Care Network. He and Christine, along with the Management and Advisory Boards, are fully engaged with and responsible for all aspects of the project.
Sam, is President & CEO. Pastor Sam has a Theology Diploma from the Bethel Bible College. He leads the voice of Salvation Church congregation in Nairobi and provides religious oversight and services for Barikawa. He is known widely as being blessed with powerful intercessory and healing ministries. With Barikawa, Sam is achieving his ambitions of passing on a Christian moral orientation of honesty, integrity and ethics to upcoming generations in love, care, and patient enduring trust in the Lord`s providence. He is leading Barikawa in its goal of incorporating as a USA 501(c))3)
Sam is a dedicated, persistent and creative leader of great personal integrity and charisma. The organization is poised to grow with a long range goal of helping up tp 500 children at any time with housing, education, and preparation for productive independent lives. Sam is authoring a book about Barikawa and his and Christine's journey. It is their intention to travel to the USA, Europe and Asia to raise funds for their lives’ project.
Constance Russell, age 82, was born in Kentucky and reared in California. She resides in Washington State with her family. She has four daughters and one son in the vicinity, some of whom work alongside her in charitable activities. Her employment history includes owning and running a business and statistical analysis for a local government organization.
In addition to Connie’s many voluntary church and school activities, she is considered Co-founder of Barikawa together with her deceased spouse and family. Connie has fostered and supported Barikawa over the past 6 years since it’s inception by Pastor Sam and Christine Kasedar.
Connie is one of Barikawa’s patrons, and a its Advisory Board Member for Development She has made it her task to network with persons interested in joining the effort of supporting Barikawa. Connie is involved in every aspect of the project.
Roy was born in 1951 in Texas and reared in Venezuela until age 13. His own family included three children; he has one living sister in Mexico. He raised three children in Connecticut. His eldest son is a Patent Attorney married to a Patent Agent. His next is a son who is an R.N. married to a Neurosurgeon. His youngest, a daughter, is an R.N. married to a mechanic and farmer. Together they have blessed Roy with four grandchildren.
In 1969 Roy matriculated at the U.S.Naval Academy, finishing his education at the University of Connecticut, where he received a B.S. in Biology. He trained in Internal Medicine and worked for three years as an Emergency Physician. Thereafter, Dr, Russell undertook an Anesthesiology Residency, Chief Residency, Research Fellowship and Pain Fellowship at Duke and Georgetown Medical Centers.
In 1987 he began his practice of Pain Medicine. After many years of practice, Roy and his wife took a hiatus of two years of apostolic service in New York managing a very large and busy religious family and retreat facility. Afterwards, he returned to OR Anesthesia practice in Pennsylvania, retiring in 2012 to New Hampshire. In retirement, Roy is busier than ever. His time and energy are expended volunteering in a broad range of church and charitable activities, and in personal investing. Most of his efforts go toward assisting Barikawa mature and grow to its fullest potential. Roy also supports La Ola, another amazing chilkdren' home and school in Mexico.
Christine Achieng Rayuga, age 32, is a Kenyan native. She, with her husband , Pastor Sam Osmondi, reside with their family in Nairobi where they have been responsible for bringing about the humanitarian program entitled Barikawa, Nairobi. Christine serves as a Barikawa General Board Member, amd as its Treasurer.
Christine has a diploma in Business Management from Zetech University. She was also Executive Chef At the Eka Hotel. Over the past few years she has demonstrated competencies in budgeting, personnel training and management, team leadership, computer usage(ICDL Microsoft software). She is am individual of great personal integrity, and a committed, highly motivated , independent worker And team player.
Aside from its original presence as a school and orphanage serving the underprivileged of Nairobi , Barikawa has developed two other aspects of community service. One such outreach is assisting women in aspects of self-care such as hygiene, nutrition, finance, home care and more. This aspect of the overall program is the nascent Women‘s Empowerment Program, of which Christine is the leader. A vital component of this will be a Micro Banking offering to help women become fiscally independent and capable of supporting themselves and their families. Christine is also the lead of the Medical Missions Program, focusing upon parasitic infections and other tropical diseases, generally involving large-scale missions to areas far distant from Nairobi.
Nancy Rank was born and reared in Brockville, Ontario Canada. She is a proud mother of 5 daughters and sons, and a grandmother of many. She became a US Citizen 1971. She now resides in Washington State, nearby other members of the Barikawa Family.
Nancy’s employment history was as director of a funeral home establishment. Her many volunteer efforts include Church work, Christian ministry and support of local charities. She is a long-standing associate of the Barikawa organization. Her involvements there include various humanitarian efforts, include networking and development and serving as Secretary for the organization.
Kari Bradford is a mother of five that who a heart for serving others. She lives in Port Orchard, Washington where she, for the last 25 years, has been devoted to The Christian Life Center, a Bible study group, and various volunteer activities.
She is part of a community of volunteers that have worked with Barikawa since its inception. Previously, in her career, Kari served 30 years working for the United States Postal Service. Originally from California, Kari moved to Washington to raise her family. She is an extraordinary mother and grandmother.
Kari has been very eager to assist in the development of Barikawa by her recommendations, counsel and gifts. She has become an important contributor and mentor to the organization. She serves as the Director-Liaison to Marketing, helping to network and support the project's various programs
